The Royal Army Medical Corps regularly deploys to Kenya in order to provide much-needed medical care to remote and inaccessible communities. This painting commemorates the valuable humanitarian work undertaken by the Corps.

In 2006 the artist accompanied 3 Close Support Medical Regiment to Northern Kenya where it delivered medical care to the tribes people of Samburu and Marsabit Districts. This painting depicts one of the Medical Patrols which contributed to the administration of 10,000 life-saving vaccines to mothers and children; 7,000 primary care consultations; and the extraction of 1000 teeth.
